Sytheon has published a study in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, profiling mechanistic details of isosorbide di-(linoleate/oleate) and its effectiveness as a treatment for xerotic pruritic skin. The company notes that the breakdown of the epidermal barrier and consequent loss of skin hydration is a feature of skin aging and eczematous dermatitis.
